Use this quick topping to add a little extra crunch to your favorite casserole, soup or salad.
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
- 1 cup Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal
1. Melt margarine in small fry pan over low heat. Remove from heat. Add KELLOGG'S® RICE KRISPIES® cereal, stirring until well coated. Spoon over top of vegetable or main dish casserole before baking.
2. For use on soups or salads, cook cereal in margarine, in fry pan until crisped and lightly browned. Remove from heat. Sprinkle over hot soup or crisp greens salad just before serving.
Microwave margarine in 8 x 8 x 2-inch glass baking dish at HIGH until metled. Add KELLOGG'S® RICE KRISPIES® cereal, stirring until well-coated. Microwave at HIGH 1 1/2 minutes or until cereal is crisp.
Microwave cooking times may vary.
Any of the following may be stirred into melted margarine before adding cereal:
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
6 to 8 drops liquid pepper sauce
Any of the following may be tossed with the crisped cereal:
1 teaspoon dill weed
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
