I remember the first time my oldest son ate his first rice krispie treat, he was a little over six years old. He was a sick little boy from just a baby and was unable to digest foods, when he turned 6 he went through major surgerys so that he could finally eat. When he came home from the hospital he had to have mushy stuff, we tried everything, until we found vanilla rice krispies. Vanilla rice krispies quickly became the only thing he would eat that he didn't get pain from. So one day i decided to make krispie treats, it was a day i will never forget. He sat down beside me, grabbed a piece so big he could barely hold on to and smiled from ear to ear, he had never even tasted a marshmallow before, his eyes lite up and all he could do was smile. When he was done with what est managed to eat he looked up at me and said " your the best mommy in the world, only you could make me something this good". And all I could do was smile, trying not to cry.

1. I love peanut butter treats. The only thing is, to me, just like peanut butter cookies, you can never really taste the peanut butter. There's always a weak peanut butter flavor. So I usually add just a tad bit more. 1/4 cup or so, or I add some peanut butter chips to liven up that taste! Yummy and good for ya! :)

2. This reciepe is also very good when made with Coco Krispies in place of the regular Rice Kirspies. Do becareful if you melt the marshmallow and butter in the microwave. They need to to in a VERY LARGE microwave safe bowl or they will bubble over the bowl and get all over the microwave. It's a mess to clean up. Trust me on this. :)

3. I made this recipe with Nutella instead of peanut butter for a family get-together. They loved them so much, it's the only dish I'm ever allowed to bring anymore!

5. The smell of peanut butter rice krispie treats brings me back to childhood- my mom wanted to add some protein to the treat to make it healthier. Now, I make them for my kids. I can't even eat a plain one! I was so disappointed when my favorite only had one heart next to it- so this mom wants to review it an give it 5 star review!

6. When I was in college 30 years ago, we made rice krispie treats every night in the dining hall using the microwave. But we used COCOA krispies with the peanut butter! Oh, those are still my favorites!

8. When I make these I either melt buttscotch chips across the bottom or stir in some butterscotch chips. You can't tell if you taste the PB or Butterscotch but it is a perfect blend! Making some now as a matter of a fact!
