      Why use Kellogg's® Rice Krispies®?

As the first crisped rice cereal, Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® has been bringing families together in the kitchen for over 80 years.

To experience the timeless flavor, make your Rice Krispies Treats® squares with the original Rice Krispies® brand cereal.

      Where to buy

    1. Clean, then coat inside of plastic eggs with cooking spray. Set aside.
    2. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
    3. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
    4. Using greased hands, firmly press 1/4 cup of the cereal mixture into each plastic egg half. Use fingers to make hollow center in each half. Remove from molds. Place on wax paper. Cool slightly.
    5. Place about 6 M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies in one half of each egg. Gently press two halves of each egg together until they stick. Cool completely.
    6. Decorate with frosting and additional M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies (if desired). Best if served the same day.

    MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
Follow step 1 above. In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 3 through 6 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.

    Notes:
For best results, use fresh marshmallows.

1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows.

Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.

Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container.

comments-6055. I started this recipe at 4:08 and have just finished at 6:00. From prepping the plastic eggs to stuffing the last one it took MUCH longer than the 40 minutes total stated in the recipe. When molding your eggs pack the Krispie treats tight so they don't fall apart once they are taken out of the mold. This also helps the eggs hold their shape once they're out of their molds. It was easier to press the two halves together while they were still in the plastic egg halves. I just clicked the plastic eggs together and let them sit for a minute before sliding them out. The finished product is so cute! I will probably decorate around the seam to cover it up and help keep the eggs together. It might also be cute to add food coloring and have different colored eggs.

comments-6102. Very Messy, took me about 3 hrs. BUT they are very cute and worth every minute. TIP-put them in the freezer once they are put together. Its easier if you add the candy and put the plastic eggs together then put them in the freezer. Way less messy and come out of plastic egg easier too.

It was kind of harder than I thought shaping the eggs in the molds but they turned out pretty good and they were a cute fun yummy project that kept the kids entertained!

comments-6184. These are so amazing! I made them for my son's K class today, and it was a snap! Instead of making a whole batch and risking them setting before I got all the eggs done, I made half batches in a smaller pan and used larger eggs. ( the bigger eggs than the standard filler ones. ) Each half batch filled about 8 eggs. I filled the bottom full enough that some treats bulged out the top and evenly filled the top and made a well in that. I followed a previous reviewer's suggestion and snapped the eggs closed, then popped them in the fridge for about ten minutes to cool completely. I opened the eggs by squeezing the seal, pulling off the bottom straight (not at an angle,) and gently rotating the treat to slide out. No seams! A little slimy because of the veggie oil, but so cute. I colored each batch so I had green, blue and yellow. Great job creating a fun, easy treat, Kellogs!!!

Instead of buttering hands however we had all f them put on plastic gloves and had the kitchen melt the butter and marshmallow for us! All in all a wonderful recipe for all ages!

These are very messy but cute.

You can use Rice Krispies at every holiday and special occasion. Use a cookie cutter on a rolled out 1/2" sheet of Rice Krispies (Wax paper is what I roll out on) to make Rice Krispie cookies. Decorate with candies or icing. If you want to get fancy find a mold suited to the holiday and mold everything from a Halloween pumpkin to a Christmas Tree, decorated with candy or hand made Rice Krispies ornaments. I like Rice Krispies snowflakes myself. A bunny cookie cutter will get you another Easter treat. But don't forget to make a St. Paddy's day Rice Krispies Shamrock! The wonderful thing about Rice Krispies treats is how versatile they are.

comments-6148. My husband and I tried to make the Easter Egg treats for our grandchildren. After about 1 1/2 hours, we gave up. The Rice Krispies set long before we finished and we couldn't get the holes into the eggs. Today, will we try the Robin's Egg Nest Treats, as they seem to be a little easier.

comments-6147. Wow.... these took me about 2hrs strait... To start I had plastic eggs that instead of opening the reg way of in the middle of it standing up they were lentwise down the middle.. this was nice because i stuffed them then compacted them by patialy closing the egg, then that squished it together so i took a bread knife and sliced it open, i then made a hole in the center for candys by using the back of a spoon handle and puching it in, placing the candy in and closing the egg again, finaly i opened it and removedit setting ot on wax paper to cool completly!! BUT I WOULD DO IT AGAIN!! THEY ARE DELIOUS!

comments-177211332610862350. I can't wait to make these for my "grands"! I have seen the ads on TV and now I know I can get them right. I have made "bird nests" using chow mein noodles with marshmallows, green tinted coconut and jelly beans, but now I see a new way to make them using Rice Crispies. O so excited!!

comments-177211333606885433. I made these in a hurry for girl's group at church. Didn't have M&Ms to add. I used half the recipe with one-third chocolate rice crispies and then made the other half with rice cripies. To each batch I added some Fruit Loops for color. The kids loved them. Had no trouble removing "eggs" from the plastic eggs.

comments-177211333619831711. These came out super cute. I made them for daughter's kindergarten class. I did find that letting the rice krispies mixture cool before forming them in the egg made it a lot easier then when it was still hot. They stayed together once they set really well too. I used gel frosting and put polka dots on the eggs. Wasn't really sure how the m&m's in the picture for the recipe stayed on the outside of the eggs, so I thought some gel frosting would still give it a cute look. I was right. :)
