comments-2522. THESE ARE AWSOME!!!!!i tried them one cold winter morning and i gave them to my kids. THEY BEGGED FOR MORE! I don't however make 52 at one time like the recipe says to, i make about 10 at one time. i use 1/2 a cup of PB, 1 cup of sugar (just normal, or brown sugar), and NO vegtable thickining. THEY TURN OUT GREAT STILL. remember this tip: YOU CAN ALWAYS IMPROVICE AND IT STILL WORKS IF YOU USE THE RIGHT SUBSTATUTE!!! ~Alice Netter Delaware

comments-1. These are delicious and so easy! I made them with crunchy peanut butter, which gave them even more peanut taste.

comments-3973. Somebody gave us these for Christmas and they were delicious! I had to find the recipe! I made them tonight. The idea of eating that much butter on top of the peanut butter kind of grossed me out. I did NOT add in the butter or the shortening. I just put in the same amount of peanut butter. They turned out great! I made my peanut butter rounds a little too big, so I only ended up with 21, and there could have been a better peanut butter to chocolate ratio. So next time I will make smaller rounds and I think it should fix that problem. I am planning on making them with almond butter in the future too, I think it sounds delicious!!!!

Once they were rolled and cooled slightly (not enough to be completely dry) she would sprinkle them with powdered sugar and cinnamon. The cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon) can also be added when you melt the pb, butter, sugar etc. and can be adjusted to your taste. Red cayenne pepper can also be used if you are feeling adventurous.

comments-6958. This receipe has been in our family for years, my mother must of copied it when it first came out. My family would be upset if I did not make these every year and my daughter-in-laws are now making them for their sides of the family by request! Pretty soon I will be teaching my grandchildren how to make them, my mother is in heaven now but I no she would be so proud to see it being passed on.
